Hats

Since I got on Ravelry I have a hard time remembering to update my FO's here. So I have two this time!! Both hats.

Pattern: My own, k2,p2 round and round and round

Yarn: Wool Ease multi in Pines colorway

Needles: Size 8 mystery circs

I held this doubled throughout to make a very thick/warm hat since SO works outside. It didn't take up both skeins, so quite possibly one skein will still be enough for this hat.

Second hat:

Pattern: David's Hat, by Kenny (on Ravelry)

Yarn: Filatura Di Crosa Wave in Navy
and Knit Picks Andean Silk in Cream, as pattern
Wool Ease, leftovers in Blue, for interior cuff/hem

Needles: Size 5 and 7 Boye circs

This was my first EVER fair isle project and I was really nervous. I'm a natural procrastinator when it comes to the unknown but I made myself dive into this full tilt. I'm really glad I did. I cast on Thursday evening, and was finished Sunday morning. It took me a bit to figure out how to hold the 2 strands, and the most comfortable and most efficient way was for me to hold them BOTH in my right hand on different fingers. I'm a righty and I have tried repeatedly to teach myself to incorporate my left hand while knitting, but it's very slow and clumsy and no matter how often I practice it still slows me WAAAAYYY down. And I have knitting to get done, so that doesn't work for me.

Poor guy. He was outside and I made him come in to try this on. He's ok though cuz he loves his new hat and has declared it his favorite of all of them!!
