OSW-the Second.

This is a late post, but I wanted to get it up here. Here is the second One Skein Wonder by Glampyre that I completed.

Stats: One Skein Wonder, Glampyre Knits
Yarn: Mango Moon Sari Silk, Mango Moon nylon (held with the silk) and Louisa Alcott Silk/Wool blend for the sleeve cuff and neck band
Needles: Denise, size called for in pattern
Mods: I doubled up the Sari silk and the nylon to give the body more give and more memory, based on a suggestion by the owner of Sweet Celeste's in Mt. Clemens. I ran out of Sari silk before the cuff so I picked up the silk/wool blend in a coordinating color and did seed stitch for the cuff and neck band with a sewn bind off. It's much more comfy than the first one I made, since the seed stitch/sewn bind off doesn't bind along my neck.
Love the results! The Sari Silk? Not so much. I don't think it's a fiber I will work with again. I have yet to wash it, and I have been warned to be very careful with that. Wish me luck!

Fetching!

This one took some major thinking! I had to pull a stash skein out and pick thru the colors of it to finish this project off. Here are the results:
The colors coordinate, but they do not match each other at all. They are very comfy; I've been wearing them non-stop since I finished them on Saturday. I will wash them tonight, and let them dry, as Noro Silk Garden softens up a lot after it's washed. They are nice to wear while knitting; they provide a little extra warmth without getting in the way. Oh, and they are good for throwing the football around too, since we took the kids to the park Saturday afternoon. So, they have THAT going for them too!

Stats: Fetching, from Knitty
Yarn: Noro Silk Garden (1 full skein-or 2 partial skeins)
Needles: Denise, size called for in pattern
Mods: Used the sewn bind off instead of the picot bind off. Added 2 extra rows to the thumb and palm.

LOVE THEM~~Can't wait to make another pair soon!
